Aaron Pressley scored twice as Barrow eased past MK Dons 3-0 in a meeting between two lower mid-table sides.

Substitute Tyler Smith added a third in stoppage time to earn the Bluebirds a first win in three games.

It was a third defeat in a row for MK Dons, however, who are 10 points above the bottom two.

The hosts had an early opportunity as Jack Sanders was denied by Wyll Stanway.

Barrow then took the lead in the 16th minute, with Pressley heading in Connor Mahoney’s cross.

Kyle Cameron side-footed narrowly wide as the visitors pushed for a second before Barrow keeper Stanway made saves to deny Scott Hogan and Tommi O’Reilly, while Connor Lemonheigh-Evans also had a goal disallowed for offside.

Pressley doubled Barrow’s lead 10 minutes after the break as he received Isaac Fletcher’s pass before running through and beating Connal Trueman.

The visitors duly kept MK Dons at arm’s length for most of the second half before Smith tapped in Ben Whitfield’s cross in stoppage time to wrap up a convincing win.
