Tamworth boss Andy Peaks was delighted as his National League side knocked Staffordshire rivals Burton out of the FA Cup on penalties after a 1-1 draw.
Haydn Hollis fired home the winning spot-kick after Jas Singh had saved from Danilo Orsi and Ben Whitfield.
Tamworth’s Ronan Maher had earlier cancelled out Mason Bennett’s effort, with both goals coming in extra time after a goalless 90 minutes.
The Lambs have now beaten two League One sides in this season’s competition to book their place in the third round and Peaks was proud of their performance.
“Absolutely delighted,” Peaks said after scenes of joy in the away end at the Pirelli Stadium.
“I thought we stood up to the task and got better and stronger as the game went on and for a part-time side to win on penalties… it’s a horrible way to lose but when you win, it’s fantastic.
“Going into penalties I was proud of what they had done. They applied themselves and matched a League One side over 120 minutes and to win is a real bonus.
“We don’t play loads of pretty football but what I have is a group that want to work really hard for each other and put their bodies on the line and everyone gets behind what you are trying to do and that wins you a lot of games.
“We have a real togetherness that takes you a long way in football.”
Burton interim head coach Tom Hounsell was left frustrated that his side did not take any of their early chances and seize control of the game.
“I am frustrated because I think we had enough chances in the game to kill it off,” Hounsell said.
“We needed to score an early goal and had big opportunities, but we didn’t take those and the longer it stays 0-0 the pressure builds and you see the outcome that an FA Cup game can give you.
“The performance is hugely disappointing and apologies to the fans because we haven’t given them enough moments to celebrate this year and today should have been a good opportunity to do that.
“We tried out best but today it wasn’t good enough.”
