Arsenal man picks up 'shocking' injury on International duty
Some Arsenal fans on Twitter are reacting to a photo of Sead Kolasinac’s injury on international duty.
Playing for Bosnia and Herzegovina, the versatile Arsenal defender went off injured on 39 minutes following a challenge from Finland’s Jukka Raitala.
Raitala also wound up getting a red card for the tackle and after seeing a still of the incident, it’s easy to see why.
Kolasinac, who earns £100,000 per week in North London, took a studs-up challenge to the ankle, causing it to bend.
It remains to be seen how serious the actual incident was but, going by the images, it doesn’t look good.
The 28-year-old is very much a fringe player at Arsenal.
Kolasinac has only managed 90 minutes of Premier League football this season and although Mikel Arteta won’t like having any of his players sidelined, it’s a lot worse if this was Gabriel Magalhaes or someone.
With Kieran Tierney sidelined, Kolasinac has been getting a wee bit more time as Nuno Tavares’s understudy at left back.
Having said all of the above, the former Schalke is one heck of a player as far as physicality goes.
He’s just about as robust a player as Arsenal have in the squad.
And if anybody’s body can sustain the damage he suffered today, it’s him.
