Barcelona secured a hard-fought 1-0 win at relegation battlers Leganes to move seven points clear at the top of LaLiga and remain unbeaten in 2025.

Hansi Flick’s side owed their win to Leganes defender Jorge Saenz’s own goal early in the second half as they extended their unbeaten run in all competitions to 24 matches.

Max Beier’s opener for Dortmund was cancelled out by former Arsenal forward Raphael Guerreiro against his former club and although Bayern regained the lead through substitute Serge Gnabry, Waldemar Anton slammed home a rebound to earn the visitors a point.

Second-placed Bayer Leverkusen were unable to cash in on Bayern’s dropped points as they were earlier held 0-0 at home by Union Berlin and remain six points behind.

Mainz’s Champions League hopes were dealt a blow as they lost 2-0 at Hoffenheim – visiting midfielder Paul Nebel was sent off in stoppage time – and Freiburg made up ground with a 2-1 win at Borussia Monchengladbach, which lifted them up to sixth.

Augsburg are just three points off the top six in ninth place after a 2-1 win second-bottom Bochum, despite the second-half dismissal of Arne Maier, while St Pauli moved seven points clear of the relegation places with a 2-1 win at bottom club Holstein Kiel.

Inter Milan moved six points clear at the top of Serie A as a 3-1 home win against Cagliari extended their unbeaten league run to seven matches.

Marko Arnautovic and Lautaro Martinex put Inter 2-0 up midway through the first half and although Roberto Piccoli pulled one back for Cagliari after the break, Yann Bisseck’s header restored the home side’s two-goal advantage.

Juventus climbed up to third after a 2-1 home win against Lecce, with Teun Koopmeiners and Kenan Yıldız on target for the Bianconeri, while Venezia boosted their survival hopes with their first league win in 15 games, a 1-0 home victory against fellow strugglers Monza.

In Ligue 1, Monaco boosted their Champions League hopes by leapfrogging Marseille into second place after beating them 3-0 at the Stade Louis II.

Takumi Minamino gave Monaco a half-time lead before Breel Embolo fired their second and Denis Zakaria converted a late penalty.

Lille also stepped up their bid for a top-three finish as they won 2-1 at Toulouse, climbing three places to fourth, level on points with Strasbourg, who were held 2-2 at home by Nice.
