Forest Green got back to winning ways as a 2-1 success over Sutton took them level on points with second-placed York.

Charlie McCann gave his side the lead just before the half-hour mark when he collected Liam Sercombe’s pass and slotted smartly into the bottom corner.

Christian Doidge doubled the advantage when he got the final touch on Jamie Robson’s drilled ball across goal, with the visitors unable to capitalise after Will Davies halved the deficit from distance in the 57th minute.

That puts Forest Green on 71 points, tied with the Minstermen having played one more match.
