Lewis Young’s first match in interim charge saw Dagenham bounce back from successive festive defeats to win 2-0 at rock-bottom Ebbsfleet.

The Daggers had suffered National League setbacks against Wealdstone and Braintree over the Christmas period, leading to the departure of Ben Strevens, but were too good for their Kent hosts at Stonebridge Road.

Shiloh Remy fired them ahead after 55 minutes with his first goal of the season after playing a neat one-two with Josh Rees.

Jake Hessenthaler added the second 10 minutes later with his free-kick beating the Ebbsfleet wall and goalkeeper Mark Cousins.

Rakish Bingham had steered an inviting opportunity wide for Ebbsfleet with the score 0-0.
