Ethan Pye and Kyle Wootton’s goals secured Stockport a comfortable 2-0 away victory at Shrewsbury to break into the play-off spots.
Just before the half-hour mark, George Lloyd chased down a loose ball before playing a through ball into Tom Bloxham.
The forward managed to find Leo Castledine in the box, but his effort was deflected for a corner.
Stockport broke the deadlock minutes before half-time with their first clear-cut chance of the evening.
Lewis Fiorini curled a free-kick into the danger area, which Shrewsbury could not deal with, and Pye was on hand to bend the ball into the top corner.
The visitors nearly doubled their advantage early into the second half when Fiorini found the ball from 25 yards out.
The midfielder drilled a low ball towards the bottom corner, but Toby Savin was on hand to parry it away for a corner.
Wootton secured all three points for the visitors with just under five minutes remaining when he tapped home from close range from a set piece.
