Gillingham recorded their fifth consecutive draw in Sky Bet League Two as they shared the points with Salford.
All four goals came in a frantic first 25 minutes with Elliott Nevitt’s early goal being cancelled out by efforts from Cole Stockton and Kelly N’Mai for the hosts, only for Remeao Hutton to equalise for the Gills.
Just two minutes were on the clock when Nevitt cut into the Salford box before he saw his shot deflected by Liam Shephard, which sent the ball looping past Matty Young.
The hosts were level five minutes later though as Stockton got on the end of an incisive low cross from Ben Woodburn to bag his third goal in three games from close range.
N’Mai then put Salford in front as he was afforded space to gallop goalwards before unleashing a superb finish beyond Glenn Morris.
But Gillingham made it 2-2 on 24 minutes as Hutton cut into the box and shaped an excellent left-footed curling shot into the top corner.
The Ammies had second-half penalty shouts waved away when N’Mai took a tumble in the box before substitute Joe Gbode could have snatched a late winner for Gillingham but he fired over the bar.
