The Liverpool and England defender, 26, tops a list which also includes Tottenham right-back Pedro Porro, 25, Bayer Leverkusen winger Jeremie Frimpong, 23, and Sevilla’s 21-year-old Spain youth international Juanlu.
The Spanish giants are also weighing up a January move for Chelsea defender Josh Acheampong, 18. The Independent says Liverpool, Newcastle and Tottenham are also keen on the England youth international.
Erik ten Hag’s job hinges on an improvement in results up to the next international break, according to the Daily Mirror.

Players to watch
Nicolo Barella: The Inter Milan and Italy midfielder, 27, is on the radar of Liverpool and Manchester City, as well as Real Madrid and Atletico Madrid, according to Fichajes.
Frenkie de Jong: The Spanish outlet also reports Manchester United are favourites to sign the Netherlands midfielder, 27, if he leaves Barcelona in the summer.
