Forest Green let victory slip from their grasp after being held to a 2-2 National League draw by Southend at The New Lawn.

Rovers took the lead when Adam May’s free-kick was nodded home by Ryan Inniss, only for Macauley Bonne to equalise for the visitors.

The frantic pace continued when Jordon Garrick was on target for play-off chasing Forest Green despite losing a boot during a tackle by Nathan Ralph.

The goals then dried up until the 76th minute when Charley Kendall fed Gus Scott-Morriss who made no mistake from close range to grab a share of the spoils.
