Gary Bowyer hailed the togetherness of the Burton squad after his relegation-threatened side defied the odds to beat Stevenage 1-0 in League One.
Charlie Webster got the only goal of the game on the stroke of half-time as he fired the ball through the legs of Lewis Freestone to find the bottom corner.
And they then had to face more than 35 minutes with 10 men after Terence Vancooten was given a straight red for a professional foul.
The Burton boss said: “We were all phenomenal, from the players to the staff to that magnificent support.
“We should have been out of sight in the at first half if I’m being brutally honest.
“And if there is any area to improve on, it’s just being clinical, first half especially.
“We then have a fantastic opportunity to seal it straight at the start of the second half, the goalie has pulled off a wonderful save.
“But we did it together. They had each other’s backs, they fought for the badge and they fought for the supporters.
“The number of times they were throwing themselves in front of people and balls, the size of their lads, it was like being in the NBA.
“Our boys stood up to it enormously and we’ve got a young squad too but those young lads fought hard out there.
“I’ve not seen the penalty or the sending off and without seeing it, I thought there was somebody trying to get round on the cover.
“But to defend like we have and then come away with a clean sheet, it’s outstanding, it really is.”
Stevenage were booed off at the end of both halves and the supporters’ mood was not helped by Jamie Reid missing a penalty, one minute before Vancooten’s dismissal.
Boro boss Alex Revell could understand that frustration, saying: “First half, we have nobody else to blame but ourselves.
“We were really naive in terms of going backwards too often, losing first contacts and second balls.
“They hit the bar twice because we were defending a situation just from no communication.
“That’s again just naivety, not defending the situation very well.
“We’re not taking our chances that should result in goals and then we concede just before half-time.
“Second half, we miss a glorious opportunity to go on and win and we don’t take it.
“And then after that, it wasn’t going to be our day. Everything we hit went wide or got blocked.
“We should be coming out with something for the game but we don’t and there’s no one else to blame apart for us.”
