Hallam Hope grabbed a late winner against his former club to give Morecambe a 3-2 victory against League Two relegation rivals Swindon.

The Shrimps went ahead after just six minutes from Jamie Stott’s diving header from Luke Hendrie’s pinpoint cross from a short-corner routine.

Eight minutes later Adam Lewis’ free-kick found the unmarked Ben Tollitt at the far post and he smashed home from close range.

Jordan Slew then found himself in a similar position but his shot was straight at the chest of Robins keeper Jack Bycroft.

Early Swindon substitute Aaron Drinan scored with his first touch seconds after coming off the bench with a delightful lob from Harry Smith’s knock-on from a free-kick in the 32nd minute.

Callum Jones tried an audacious shot from 30 yards which Bycroft had to parry.

Four minutes after the break Swindon centre-half Ryan Delaney levelled with a low shot after the Shrimps failed to clear from a throw-in.

With 12 minutes left Hope raced onto Hendrie’s through ball to blast home.

Tollitt nearly made it four but Bycroft got down well.
