Ian Evatt marks Bolton milestone with win over Mansfield

Ian Evatt celebrated his 250th game as Bolton boss with victory as his team came from behind late on to beat 10-man Mansfield 3-1 in League One.

Dion Charles, Victor Adeboyejo and John McAtee struck in a devastating 10-minute spell after Town led through Hiram Boateng’s first-half header.

Heading for a first win at Bolton since 1987, the Stags were then undone by Boateng’s 70th-minute sending-off for a foul on Randell Williams – his second caution in 11 minutes.

Northern Ireland international Charles – one of four home substitutes introduced on the hour – equalised five minutes later before Adeboyejo (80) and McAtee (85) completed the unlikeliest of wins.

Bolton were booed off after an abject first-half display which saw Boateng notch his second goal of the campaign from Lucas Akins’ right-wing cross in the 34th minute.

It didn’t get any better for the home side after the break as Adeboyejo flapped at a great chance from Jordan Bowery’s poor back pass.

Mansfield, suffering a fourth successive league defeat, thought they had doubled their advantage but referee Seb Stockbridge ruled Boateng’s effort hadn’t crossed the line and Bolton finally rallied to claim victory.
