A late goal from Jack Shepherd earned visitors Bradford a 1-1 draw and denied Morecambe a first League Two win of the season.
Morecambe started the game on the front foot and took a fifth-minute lead when Cheick Diabate turned a Paul Lewis cross past his own goalkeeper.
The hosts went close to scoring a second two minutes later when Ben Tollitt’s right-wing cross was headed inches wide by Paul Lewis.
Diabate almost scored a second own goal when he forced his own keeper into a smart save from Adam Lewis’ left wing cross and Tollitt should have done better than fire wide from the rebound.
After a slow start Bradford began to force their way back into the game, with Jay Benn clipping an effort wide after running in behind the Morecambe defence before Andy Cook headed against the outside of the right post on the stroke of half-time.
Bradford goalkeeper Sam Walker kept his side in the game after the break with superb saves from Callum Jones and Tollitt before the Bantams pounced through Shepherd’s header two minutes from time.
