Joe Grey struck a late winner as Hartlepool maintained their unbeaten start to the Vanarama National League season with a 1-0 success at Tamworth.

Pools forward Grey pounced with only eight minutes remaining at the Lamb Ground, latching on to Nathan Sheron’s pass to beat home goalkeeper Jas Singh.

Tamworth twice hit the woodwork following a set-piece in added time as their winless start stretched to three games.

Victory for Darren Sarll’s visitors, secured with a third successive clean sheet, moved them on to seven points from a possible nine.
