Kayden Jackson scored his first Derby goal as they came from behind to beat Chesterfield 2-1 in the Carabao Cup at Pride Park.
Armando Dobra put Chesterfield in front only for Liam Thompson to level before Jackson won it in the second half.
Derby had the bulk of possession but after Dajaune Brown’s close-range header was saved, Chesterfield went ahead in the 29th minute with their first chance.
The Championship side lost the ball in midfield and Joe Quigley played in Dobra, who fired a shot into the bottom corner, but Derby hit back to equalise in the 38th minute.
Brown steered the ball back to Thompson, who drove a shot from the edge of the box into the top-right corner.
Derby should have gone in front in the 56th minute after Kane Wilson’s cross broke to Kenzo Goudmijn but his shot from close range came back off the underside of the bar.
However, Jackson pounced in the 68th minute from a corner with his shot from six yards spinning in off goalkeeper Ryan Boot.
Chesterfield’s Bailey Hobson went close from 25 yards before Boot denied Nathaniel Mendez-Laing a third.
