Lewis Banks’ equaliser earned Altrincham a 1-1 draw at home to Hartlepool in the National League.

Nathan Sheron fired Pools into a fifth-minute lead at Moss Lane, slamming home after Daniel Dodds’ cross was nodded down by Adam Campbell.

The Robins levelled in the 29th minute when Banks broke into the visitors’ box and dispatched a low left-footed shot beyond Hartlepool goalkeeper Brad Young.

Hartlepool almost regained the lead before the break but Dodds’ deflected cross came back off a post before Altrincham keeper Ethan Ross cleared off the line.
