Maidenhead produced a battling display to claim their first point of the National League season with a 0-0 draw at Fylde.

Alan Devonshire’s team headed to Lancashire on the back of defeats against Eastleigh, Solihull Moors and Altrincham.

But they gave as good as they got at Mill Farm Stadium, with striker Shawn McCloskey proving a particular threat to the Fylde defence.

Home goalkeeper Ben Winterbottom had an outstanding afternoon, and although both sides created chances, neither team could break the deadlock.

Both sides now have a quick turnaround, with Maidenhead hosting Barnet on Monday, when Fylde travel to Wealdstone.
