Maidenhead slipped to a third successive Vanarama National League defeat as they went down 1-0 at home to Altrincham.

Robins defender James Jones claimed the only goal of the game at York Road, heading home Elliot Osborne’s cross nine minutes before the break.

Maidenhead came into the game on the back of defeats to Eastleigh and Solihull Moors.

Oxford loanee Joshua Johnson threatened a second-half equaliser when he clipped a post before Altrincham hung on for their second win of the campaign to bounce back from Saturday’s 5-0 thrashing at Sutton.
