Ross County manager Malky Mackay has urged his side to carry on where they left off against Dundee United when they host another side in the cinch Premiership bottom four.

County moved four points ahead of bottom side Dundee United with a 4-0 home victory against the Tayside club last weekend.

They are now looking to close the gap on Motherwell, who have taken seven points from three games under former County manager Stuart Kettlewell.

County have taken the same tally from their recent home matches and Mackay aims to continue the momentum.

“Obviously Stuart is coming back to his old stomping ground as the new manager of Motherwell so congratulations to him,” he said in a club video.

“It’s going to be a tough game for us, they are coming off the back of a good couple of wins but we’re at home and we are looking forward to it.

“We are coming off the back of a good result last week, as are they, so I think the important thing for us is to follow that up with a good performance. If we start well then it makes a big difference.”
