Malky Mackay has eye on teams above Ross County as relegation battle intensifies
Ross County manager Malky Mackay will continue targeting the teams above them in the cinch Premiership as he predicted the relegation battle would go down to the final day of the season.
County moved five points clear of Dundee United with victory over St Johnstone on Saturday but Jim Goodwin’s men closed the gap back to two points with a win against Hibernian the following day.
Nevertheless, the away win brought County to within a point of Kilmarnock and dragged St Johnstone back into the survival fight.
And Mackay is looking for his team to put further pressure on their bottom-six rivals when they host in-form Aberdeen on Friday night.
Mackay told Sky Sports: “I have got no doubt this is going to go right to the wire but I just want to get to the split and be in touch with the ones above us, because we have a group here who are giving everything every week and giving anyone a test in the division. That’s all I can ask of them.”
