Port Vale and Tranmere shared the spoils after a match of few clear-cut chances ended in a 0-0 draw at Vale Park.
The result means Vale have picked up four points from their opening two League Two matches, while Rovers have recorded back-to-back goalless draws.
The visitors came close to taking the lead in the 13th minute when Omari Patrick pounced on a defensive mix-up and moved towards an open goal, only to be thwarted by Tom Sang’s crucial recovery tackle.
Down at the other end, Ronan Curtis fired just wide from the edge of the box before Ethan Chislett’s shot from distance narrowly missed the target.
Chislett looked threatening again early in the second-half, with his curling effort towards the far post brilliantly palmed away by goalkeeper Luke McGee.
Vale defender Jesse Debrah headed the ball against his own post from a corner in the 82nd minute but neither side really looked like breaking the deadlock as the game finished all square.
