Rochdale recorded just their second win in nine as they fought back for a narrow 2-1 National League victory over Aldershot.

The visitors took the lead after 37 minutes as Jack Barham’s close-range strike from Lorent Tolaj’s cross went in off the post.

Five minutes later, Dale equalised with a scrappy goal as Jimmy Keohane tapped the ball home from close range for his fifth league goal of the season after Jesurun Uchegbulam had his initial shot saved by the diving Jordi Van Stappershoef.

The hosts’ second-half pressure paid off as summer signing Kairo Mitchell headed home the winner 10 minutes from time following a corner and some great team play.

Tommy Willard fired wide from range in a bid for a late equaliser at the death but Shots went home empty-handed.
