Ross County appealing Jack Baldwin’s red card in Motherwell defeat
Ross County have appealed Jack Baldwin’s red card against Motherwell at the weekend.
The Staggies defender was sent off in the 70th minute of the cinch Premiership fixture in Dingwall for bringing down Kevin van Veen as the Well forward tried to go through on goal.
Referee Don Robertson had initially issued a yellow card before a VAR intervention, and he upgraded to a red after checking the pitchside monitor.
Dutch striker Van Veen subsequently punished the home side with both goals in a 2-0 win that moved the Steelmen six points above 10th-placed County.
The Dingwall club announced on their official website: “Ross County can confirm we have appealed the red card shown to Jack Baldwin in Saturday’s match against Motherwell. We will update supporters once the appeal process has concluded.”
The date for the fast-track tribunal hearing has yet to be confirmed.
