Sean Raggett sunk his former club with a second-half header as Rotherham beat Lincoln 2-1 in League One.
It looked like Jovan Makama’s 50th-minute strike had earned the visitors a point after Sam Nombe opened the scoring for the Millers.
But former Imp Raggett powered home a header in the 77th minute to ease the pressure on boss Steve Evans.
Following a half-hour delay to proceedings due to an external electric failure, Lincoln were forced into a defensive change after just eight minutes when Adam Jackson had to be helped off following a clash of heads with Hakeem Odoffin.
When play resumed, Lincoln stormed forward and Ben House unleashed a powerful effort that was tipped over by Dillon Phillips.
The Millers took the lead after 21 minutes when a lofted ball into the box found Nombe and he nodded into the corner of the net.
But shortly after half-time Jack Moylan’s powerful free-kick was kept out by Phillips and Makama was on hand to smash in the rebound.
The Imps had their tails up and House was then denied by Phillips, before Moylan drilled narrowly wide.
But Raggett headed home Joe Powell’s cross following a short-corner routine to earn the Millers just a second win in seven league games.
