Blackpool boss Steve Bruce felt his side did not do enough to deserve a fourth successive league win against Stevenage.
The Seasiders struggled to deal with the poor weather conditions and found their fellow mid-table counterparts hard to break down in a game that finished goalless, maintaining both teams’ recent unbeaten runs in Sky Bet League One.
Bruce said: “It was certainly a tough watch all afternoon really wasn’t it? It was a difficult afternoon with the wind swirling all around but in the last third of the pitch we really didn’t do enough.
“Our decision-making at times wasn’t the best either. I felt it was a really difficult afternoon for us and it was made even more so by their two centre-backs, who I thought were magnificent in stopping us and holding us back.
“Overall I’m disappointed that we didn’t show enough quality in that top third of the pitch where ultimately it really matters.
“We simply did not do enough (to win the game). Like I say, in those final areas we were just missing that real bit of quality that you need to win a match when it is like this and to get you over the line.
“We started brightly in creating a few chances but as the game went on it just became more and more frustrating for us and in the end a draw is probably a fair result.”
Stevenage boss Alex Revell was happy to come away from Bloomfield Road with a point.
The Boro are now unbeaten in their last five league matches and their coach was keen to praise his players’ resilience in keeping that run going despite such a tough assignment.
Revell said: “I think it is a really good point. It is a really tough place to come especially with the run of form that they have been on.
“Apart from the first 15 minutes, which I thought they had the better of as they started the more brighter of the two sides, I felt we sorted ourselves out well and by the second half we had really grown into it and started playing more on the front foot.
“We showed bravery, courage and a real determination in our play, especially through little moments created by Dan Kemp. Today was all about us coming up here together and being strong and resolute and I think we showed that as a team.
“The players worked really hard on getting a result and the only thing missing was that final end product. But to come here and get a point at a tough place like this is really pleasing especially after how hard we found it last year.”
