Stockport hand out derby-day hammering to Bolton

Ruthless Stockport handed out a 5-0 thrashing to Bolton as they easily saw off their Greater Manchester rivals at Edgeley Park.

Will Collar put County ahead on the half-hour mark before the hosts struck another four times with Kyle Wootton, Fraser Horsfall, Louie Barry and Odin Bailey all adding to the rout.

After Horsfall and Barry had both come close for County in the opening stages, Collar grabbed their opener on 30 minutes as he finished from Barry’s cut-back.

Stockport struck again just two minutes after the break as Wootton fired in from a few yards out after Horsfall’s initial shot had been saved by Nathan Baxter.

The third came eight minutes later when Horsfall headed in at the back post from Ollie Norwood’s corner before talisman Barry pounced on a defensive error from the visitors to net his 10th league goal this season.

Substitute Bailey added the icing on the cake as he drove in an excellent finish from the edge of the box to round off a comprehensive win for Dave Challinor’s side.
