Gateshead suffered a fifth successive defeat as they were beaten 2-0 at home by in-form Tamworth.

Dan Creaney put the visitors in front on the hour with a looping header from Callum Cockerill-Mollett’s cross.

Creaney then passed to Tom McGlinchey, who struck the Lambs’ second with 12 minutes of normal time to go.

A fourth victory in five National League outings, extending their unbeaten run to seven, takes Andy Peaks’ men within three points of the play-offs while Carl Magnay’s Gateshead, winless in seven, stay sixth.
