Josh Woods and Tyler Walton secured Accrington Stanley a 2-0 win at 10-man Rushall Olympic to earn a place in the second round of the FA Cup.
Stanley could have opened the scoring around the 20-minute mark when Donald Love sent a low-driven cross to the near post but Walton dragged his shot just wide.
The hosts then went close when Billy Crellin punched away a cross to Luke Benbow, but he could only manage to head over.
Dara Castello laid a ball off to Love midway through the half but the wing-back blasted over the bar.
And the visitors threatened again before half-time as Shaun Whalley tried his luck from range, which tested home goalkeeper Paul White but he managed to handle the effort.
Rushall had a good chance early in the second half when Fenton Heard picked up a low cross in the box but his effort whistled wide.
And the hosts found themselves down to 10 men on the hour mark after Benbow received a second yellow card for a foul.
Accrington finally pulled ahead in the 73rd minute when White spilled Whalley’s free-kick from the edge of the box and Woods poked home from close range.
The visitors wrapped up the win eight minutes from time through Walton, who powered a shot across goal and into the bottom corner.
