Woking ended a run of six National League games without a win as they held on to secure a 2-1 victory over fellow strugglers Braintree at Kingfield.
The visitors arrived on the back of two straight wins that had seen them haul clear of the relegation zone but an early Harry Beautyman penalty handed the home side the lead.
Woking doubled their advantage three minutes after the break when Beautyman turned provider to send in a cross which was headed home by Tunji Akinola in front of goal.
Braintree rallied and and halved the deficit 20 minutes from time when Aidan Francis-Clarke headed home from Ryan Clampin’s cross, but Woking held firm.
